While the exact requirements for a personal statement might vary by school, the general length is 2-4 pages and most every law school will expect one as part of your application. The personal statement should be authentic and demonstrate what you will add to your class. There are many ways to demonstrate this, and a personal statement can be extremely challenging to write. For this reason, plan on writing this over several months and anticipate many revisions and drafts. If you are a current U of A student, we strongly encourage you to utilize the free Writing Center services to start your personal statement. You can make an appointment here: https://thinktank.arizona.edu/writing-center. You can meet with a writing tutor to start, and then plan to meet a few more times to revise.
