ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
There are nine schools of Podiatric Medicine in the United States. Required courses are fairly consistent among the colleges, but students should check individual school web sites to be sure that they are meeting the prerequisites for admission.

Application Pathway
The test required for admission to Podiatry Schools is the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). There are two schools which will accept the Dental Admission Test (DAT) or the MCAT.
The centralized application service for Podiatry Schools is the American Association of Colleges of Podiatric Medicine Application Service (AACPMAS). The Application Service (AACPMAS) begins processing admission applications the first Wednesday in August each year for Fall admission the following year. Deadline Dates are as follows: For priority consideration April 1st of each year for the upcoming Fall admission. The final application deadline date is June 30th of each year for Fall admission of the same year.
Other admission requirements include letters of recommendation which are to be sent directly to the colleges, as well as personal interviews.
